It's been a quiet last few days here in Ubud, although we shopped up a storm yesterday and sent off a 12-kg package of souvenirs. There is quite a bit more I could say, but a car will be waiting for us in about 10 minutes so it will have to wait. We're off to Munduk, a really small village in north Bali at about 1,000 metres, where the focus will be on trekking and getting some exercise and fresh air (and escaping all the traffic!). I doubt we'll have internet access there, so there'll be no more updates or photos for about a week. More news later!

Hello Rymans, love reading about your adventures in Bali. Ciaran's "Hat Trick of Dangerous.." made me smile. Tell Ciaran, when I was his age, and in Canada, I remember riding in the back of a truck to our cottage, and of course, car seats, seat belts and helmets were non-existent back then. What freedom we had! Sounds like the next leg of your journey will be wonderful. Look forward to your next entry.

Godspeed.

Your bike tour adventure sounds exciting and fun - glad it worked out and everyone had a good time. Enjoy the change of scenery and altitude in Munduk - looking forward to more stories and photos. Gavin started at Hopewell this morning. He was a bit overwhelmed by the numbers of children congregating outside the various doors but after a little pep talk forged on like a champ. (Hopewell probably seems like another planet right now to you guys.) Emery meets her Southside teachers tomorrow. Construction on SDM behind us is well underway - they're readying for demolition and have trucked in tonnes of dirt and have created a giant pit on the Bank St. side. It's going to be a dirty and noisy fall! Other than the latest indication from Ignatieff that there's going to be a non-confidence vote when the House sits, so a likely fall election, that's all I have in the way of Ottawa news for the time being. But you're probably getting that online anyhow. Stay safe and looking forward to the next update! Rosie :)

Wow ... reading about your adventures and seeing the pictures blew me away. Seeing the photo evidence is way different than just "thinking" about you being in Bali. Got back from holidays last week and walked by your house with Lucy. It was sad to know you weren't in it. But I am so excited for you ... in a green with jealousy sort of way.

Have fun!
